Book recommendations

I've bought two books I already know will save my sanity as I progress to Oct 2009.

1. Bridal Bargains: Secrets to throwing a fantastic wedding on a realistic budget
Tips on saving cash on absolutely everything without necessarily sacrificing style, panache or personality. I've barely started planning, but I can already tell it's going to be my bible.

2. Off-Beat Brides:Taffeta-Free Alternatives for Independent Brides
Not all of us brides are into church ceremonies and hotel receptions. This is a bridal idea and how-to book for those of us that want to show tattoos, wear boots, and throw veils out the window.

I cannot recommend either highly enough!

I can't wait to get my copy of Offbeat Bride ... I ordered it used on Amazon so it's taking a little longer to arrive *pout*

Ive got the first one, maybe should get the second since we are shunning a church wedding/hotel reception for a bed and breakfast with a view for everything

We are doing similarly-- we're having afternoon tea at a historic college club cum B&B. I am hella excited for something so, well... off-beat!

We were going for a place that was different and this place is totally off the radar but so us. Its even better now because we are getting married on July 4th 2009. We are renting out the entire estate (three houses and tons of grounds) for two and a half days for what we were going to pay to rent a hotel lobby for six hours. Our families will stay with us and we can really enjoy the whole expierence.
